The one exception to "NFTs should not provide gameplay power." The power expires, so it cannot accumulate. A Crown of the Ember King grants +20% fire damage for 7 days, then becomes inert.

Why Expiration Makes It Work

  • Power creep cannot accumulate
  • Balance changes do not retroactively nerf permanent items
  • A monument with 6 days left is worth more than one with 1 day — transparent pricing
